Hendrick’s Gin Takes Gold

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

In the recent Beverage Tasting Institute “Gin Category” competition Hendrick’s Gin was awarded an exceptional score of “95” to take first place in the category and win the esteemed Gold Medal

Tasting notes: Clear. Aromas of candied lime peel, lemon curd, dried flowers, and mild juniper follow through on a silky, vibrant entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-full body with great depth and attractive rose water and cucumber nuances. Finishes with a long, fruity, creamy, and lightly peppery, potpourri accented fade. A delicious, sensationally flavorful gin.

The complete spirits category results for the 8/1/2010 publication date can be found here:

The Cucumber Mobile Takes to the Open Road

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

This week the Hendrick’s Gin Palace in sunny Scotland opens its doors to a group of special guests from Italy. SAVA (the owners of Fiat and Ferrari) have chosen the Gin Palace for the launch of the first ever SAVA CLASSIC CAR RALLY that starts at nearby Turnberry and finishes at the very splendid Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire.

The Cucumber Mobile, a 1961 Rover P4 which has been restored and cucumbered by Cheeky Tiki and Dashing Tweed, will take part in this classic car rally alongside other wonderful cars such as a Rolls Royce once owned by Grace Kelly, Oldsmobiles and even a 1960’s Aston Martin DB. Naturally on arrival at Gleneagles at the end of the Rally participants can be confident of being treated to a delicious Hendrick’s and Tonic out of the bar situated in the boot of the Cucumber Mobile.

Tomorrow sees 400 eccentrically clad bicycle riders take to London’s streets on the aptly named Tweed Run. It pedals off from central London at midday and ends 14 miles later in Bishopsgate. Watch out for the fabulous Hendrick’s Cucumber Jalopy that is acting as the official Safety Rally Car and we wouldn’t be at all surprised if cucumber G&Ts are somehow involved.

Eccentricity hits Edinburgh

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Artist Peter Liversidge is a true eccentric and yesterday saw the enactment of one of his Proposals at his current show “The Thrill of It All” at Edinburgh’s Ingleby Gallery. Guests were invited to participate in the staging of his now famous Gin Performance with shots of gin handed out in specially engraved glasses before Peter’s motivational speech to Scottish business leaders. And the gin was…. the suitably eccentric Hendrick’s of course!
