On the edge of the university district Mickeys was once in the Guinness Book of Records for the shortest pub name because it was registered as MC. Mickey Coyles is a very much a fixture on the Dundee bar scene and its traditional hospitality combined with the best in spirits and beer make it a big draw for older student and lecturers from the University next to the pub. It’s well known for its Cask ales winning the CAMRA award for Dundee for the past 3 years and is getting a great reputation as a good all round pub that offers something for everyone. The typical pub food menu is reasonably priced and good quality. On Monday nights some of the locals bring in instruments for a folk music session and every second Sunday there’s a very popular pub quiz. Lots of Gintime gins here served in signature specialities like the Singapore Sling or Bramble.
