Exciting new Bombay Imagination Series Launches

This summer Bombay Sapphire is launching the Bombay Sapphire Imagination Series, an exclusive series of events in collaboration with the most pioneering creatives in the UK. The idea is to inspire imagination infused evenings out – encouraging a break with the norm and  find the unexpected. The first event in the series is a literati-infused evening with London’s original and best literary nightclub, Book Slam on Thursday 4 August 2011. Fusing improvised readings, performance and music from well-known and up-and-coming poets and writers with inspirational cocktails and unexpected interactive activities the event promises guests a re-imagined evening with a difference.

Book Slam regularly features bestselling authors and rising talent through performance in different and creative forms, from poetry, stories and comedy to live music. Previous authors and artists who have hit the microphone at Book Slamʼs monthly events include Zadie Smith, Nick Hornby, Irvine Welsh, Adam Buxton, Plan B, Kate Nash, Jamie Woon and Adele. Taking inspiration from Bombay Sapphire, Book Slam will be presenting a modern day Gin Palace, which historically housed famous poets and authors who would converse on literary matters whilst enjoying a tipple. From the dressing of the venue to the line up of secret performers, Book Slam will be letting their creativity go wild.

On arrival, details on the evening’s events will be revealed and guests will be served a bespoke Bombay Sapphire Twisted Gin & Juice cocktail . A range of classic Bombay Sapphire cocktails – the Bombay Sapphire Collins, Bombay Sapphire Bramble and Bombay Sapphire Ultimate G&T – will also be available throughout the night. Whilst enjoying their cocktails guests will be entertained by improv artists creating unexpected and original on the spot raps and rhymes. The night’s performances will draw parallels between old and new worlds, taking a fresh approach to ancient poetry and classic readings, including a specially-penned story/poem inspired by the history of Bombay Sapphire as well as DJ and musical acts. This will be anything but an average mid-week night out with friends!

Tickets for the Bombay Sapphire Imagination Series Book Slam event on Thursday 4 August (7pm – 11pm at Village Underground, Shoreditch EC2A 3PQ) are available from 21 July on Bombay Sapphire’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/bombaysapphire
