Created in the Long Bar at Raffles Hotel, Singapore in 1915, the Singapore Sling is one of the most iconic of all the classic gin cocktails. This year the Singapore Sling is 100 years old and to celebrate, the makers of one of its key ingredients, Benedictine Dom liqueur, have come up with a contemporary spin on the recipe. Normally we’re not fans of tinkering with the tried and true but but this drink has caught our imagination. Try it – recipe is below:
Recipe:
30 ml Gin
10 ml Bénédictine DOM
10 ml Cherry Brandy
10 ml orange triple sec
10 ml freshly squeezed lime juice
5 ml grenadine
100 ml freshly pressed pineapple juice
4 dashes Angostura bitters
Glassware: Sling glass.
Method: Assemble all the ingredients in the shaker with ice. Shake and double strain into the glass filled with ice cubes and garnish.
