Baltic Bar and Restaurant

74 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8HA (Map)

Baltic Bar and Restaurant in Blackfriars Road is Eastern Europe meets downtown New York. Redesigned by architect Seth Stein whilst retaining its original character, it’s located in a late 18th century coachbuilder’s building. A discreet entrance into the Amber Bar leads into a fantastically stylish space with 40-foot wooden trussed ceilings, skylights and galleries. Food is Eastern European and as you would expect the bar is big on vodka but they do like their gin too. A brand new cocktail list features delicious signature serves such as the Southwark Punch made with Hendrick’s, sugar, lemon juice, Champagne Rose, topped with St Germain elderflower liqueur. Or there’s the Perfect Lady with Sipsmith Gin, Creme De Peche shaken with fresh lemon juice and egg white. Baltic’s regular Sunday Jazz evenings are not to be missed and during November the bar and restaurant will be hosting very cool jazz gigs as part of London Jazz Festival.
