Beefeater Packs a Punch for the Diamond Jubilee

June 2012 will mark the historic Diamond Jubilee of HRH Queen Elizabeth II with millions of people around the globe expected to commemorate the national anniversary. So it won’t be long now until we’ll see the bunting come out and every street in the country transformed into party central. And what better way to celebrate than with a punch cocktail made with the quintessential British spirit, Beefeater Gin.

The Punch is an established party cocktail – ideal for large groups, punches have traditionally been served at street parties throughout Great Britain’s history. The classic cocktail also has a long-standing historic association with Kings and Queens1 making it the classic beverage to mark the Diamond Jubilee. Indeed King George IV was renowned as a keen admirer of the famous Regent’s Punch that he allegedly consumed wherever he went

2 parts Beefeater London Dry Gin
1 part Dubonnet
1 part Hawkers Sloe Gin
1⁄2 par Grants Morella Cherry Liqueur
1⁄2 part Jo Hilditch British Cassis
1⁄2 part Jo Hilditch British Framboise
Plus a splash of Kings Ginger Liqueur and 3 dashes of Angostura Bitters
1 part Lemon Juice
4 parts Twinings Earl Grey Tea (chilled)
4 parts Mumm champagne
Glass: Punch glasses or highball glasses. Punch to be served from a punch bowl or large jug
Garnish: Fresh seasonal berries and currants, lemon wheels and borage flowers
Method: Build the ingredients in a punch bowl or jug and top with ice

300ml Beefeater London Dry Gin
5 tablespoons Strawberry Jam
5 tablespoons Lemon Juice
100ml Dubonnet
300ml Red Grape Juice Lemonade
Glass: Highball glasses, punch to be served in a punch bowl or large jug
Garnish: Lemon wheels, fresh strawberries sliced in half and sliced red grapes
Method: Pour all ingredients except lemonade into a punch bowl or jug and stir well, making sure the jam is mixed thoroughly. Add ice and garnish. Top with lemonade.

Beefeater Garden Party Punch

Celebrating the quintessential English country garden, the Beefeater Garden Party punch combines the best ingredients from the English countryside.Mixing traditional British ingredients, including elderflower cordial and pressed pear and apple juice, with more recently feted produce, such as sparkling English wine, the punch is a completely British celebration.

3 parts Beefeater London Dry Gin
3 parts Sparkling English Wine
2 parts good quality pressed pear or apple Juice
1 part fresh lemon juice
1 part Elderflower Cordial
1⁄2 part Sugar Syrup
Glass: Highball glasses, punch to be served in a punch bowl or large jug
Garnish: Pear and apple slices
Method: Stir all ingredients with a large ice block and serve.
For large ice block: fill a clean, empty juice carton three quarters full with water and freeze. When frozen, carefully cut carton away from the ice.
