Hats Off to Caorunn

Caorunn Gin has just won the top prize in the glass packaging category of the UK Packaging Awards 2010 beating off the likes of Johnnie Walker and Drambuie. The judges described the bottle as “beautiful” and particularly praised its design’s links to the product’s birthplace, including nods to Celtic knots and Scottish Art Nouveau. The pentagonal shape reflects the five Celtic botanicals used to produce the gin and echoes the five-pointed asterisk, the brand mark that, in turn, is influenced by the base of the red Rowan Berry. One judge said the bottle “accurately reflects the story of the product” and praised that even the base of the bottle was embossed with the symbol – “a delightful touch”.
