Bombay Sapphire is launching a series of events to reassert the role of gin as the king of cocktails amongst bartenders looking to maximise their serves and gin offering. The Bombay Spirits Company Flavour Experience will roll out across the UK over the next five months, using innovation and imagination to re-invigorate the gin category and the Bombay brand, and re-ignite bartenders’ love of gin. Hosted by Bombay Sapphire brand ambassadors Sam Carter and Sean Ware, the Bombay Spirits Company Flavour Experience sessions will look at how the gin category is best segmented through flavour, and how the method of production has an impact on the final taste experience. It is designed to help bartenders gain a fuller understanding of the whole experience of flavour through the use of the world’s first Gin Aroma Kit. Developed by George Dodd of The Aroma Academy, the kit helps identify the key aromas of the gin category, including the aromatic complexity of juniper and how different distillation methods highlight different expressions of it. For the first time bartenders are able to understand the complexity of juniper and use aroma standards to help identify the different expressions that are present in different brands.
